And you thought the Mi 10 family won’t have a new member anymore. Xiaomi, the third-largest smartphone vendor in the world, has announced otherwise.
(Update, March 10: The Xiaomi Mi 10S is official! Pricing and specs here.)
The company has revealed on Chinese social media platform Weibo that it is going to release a model called Xiaomi Mi 10S in China. The schedule is set for 2 p.m. on March 10, or just two days from today.
The shared image confirms that the new smartphone features a 108-megapixel main camera on the back. We don’t know what the other three sensors are, but safe to say one is for ultra-wide shots. The post also shows that the unit has a premium design; is available in blue, white, and black colors; and is equipped with Harman Kardon stereo speakers.

Unlike the Snapdragon 865-powered Mi 10, the Xiaomi Mi 10S uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, the same 5G chip that was launched in January and became available commercially with the unveiling of the Motorola Edge S, another interesting phone that’s priced from ¥1,999 (around P14,919 or $307 converted).
The 7nm Snapdragon 870 processor is essentially an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 865 Plus, with higher clock speeds for both the CPU and GPU. You can see the product brief below.

The Xiaomi Mi 10S was already spotted bagging 3C certification, with the site of the certification authority saying that the phone supports 33-watt fast charging. It is already up at online shops on ecommerce sites like JD.com. However, the price listed there is just a placeholder. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the 10th. Hopefully, the Mi 10S will become available in the Philippines.
