(Update, December 15: The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are worth the money. Here’s why.)
Huawei FreeBuds Pro price and availability
Locally, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro have a suggested retail price of P7,999, which translates to roughly $166 converted, and are available in Ceramic White and Silver Frost colors. The sleek black variant of the wireless earbuds won’t be sold here, unfortunately. In any case, the price is very reasonable for what you get: a quality pair of truly portable buds with an attractive design, great battery life, and exceptional noise-cancelling smarts.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro will be available for preorder in the Philippines starting tomorrow, November 27, until December 3. Those who participate in the pre-sale will get a limited-time freebie bundle worth P3,989 ($83) that includes a Huawei Band 4 wearable and an entertainment gift package.
If you buy the FreeBuds Pro from the Huawei Store Online Philippines during the said period, you’ll be entitled to the freebies we mentioned plus a Bluetooth speaker, bringing the total of the bundle to P5,379 ($112).
Huawei FreeBuds Pro features and specs
As for the earbuds themselves, the biggest selling point here has to be noise cancellation. The FreeBuds Pro have inward-facing and outward-facing microphones for accurate noise detection, as well as dynamic drivers that generate accurate anti-noise signals to achieve a noise-cancelling effect of up to 40dB. The mics also allow each bud to be used as a microphone, useful when you’re shooting video on your Huawei phone.
Additionally, the FreeBuds Pro boast the ability to intelligently identify ambient sounds and switch noise-cancellation modes on the fly depending on the environment. The in-ear design and silicone ear tips also allow for a more consistent blockage of noise passively. There are three pairs of tip options as well.

Like many other TWS earphones with active noise cancellation, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro have an awareness mode and a voice mode that cancels out a significant amount of ambient noise while amplifying voices. This feature lets you quickly chat with someone without removing or turning off the earphones.
Another notable feature is the inclusion of dual Bluetooth antennas (one per each bud) for improved signal strength and coverage, as well as minimizing interference. The FreeBuds Pro are also equipped with Huawei’s HiSilicon A1 chip and powerful 11mm dynamic drivers that are said to pump out loud, high-quality audio. Battery life is rated at up to 36 hours with the charging case.
