In early September, we already had a pre-release build of Huawei‘s latest Android-based EMUI version on our P40 Pro. Back then, we showed you the new features Huawei users should expect to see once their devices get the update.
(Update, January 7: Here’s the EMUI 11 update rollout schedule for the Philippine market!)
EMUI 11 preview video we made in early September
While the technology giant has already started rolling out EMUI 11 to owners of Huawei smartphones and tablets in China, the rest of the world is still waiting for news on the global update plan. Until now, that is.

Huawei has shared the roadmaps for each region to receive the new EMUI 11 update, and you can see them below. Do take note, though, that the announcement is for models on the open market only. Those who have carrier-locked units will get it a later time.

EMUI 11 is built on Huawei’s all-scenario ecosystem, where work can be done and transferred seamlessly between different devices and platforms without relying on third-party applications. The result? A better cross-device experience.
Just some of the features baked into it include the following:
- a smart always-on display that lets you customize your screen;
- a privacy-based screen-projection function that limits showing of messages and incoming calls on the external display;
- a multi-window that makes opening of apps in a floating window possible; and
- a notepad that allows for editing notes simultaneously from different Huawei devices.
Of course, you can always buy any of the Huawei Mate 40 series smartphones, which already come with Android 10-based EMUI 11 out of the box, as soon as the lineup becomes available in your country. We’ve already posted our unboxing and first impressions of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro model, and you may want to take a look at it. In the Philippines, the phone should be launched at any time soon.
