Vivo Thailand already launched the Vivo V20 Pro 5G as the global Vivo S7 5G variant. It also gave a preview of the regular V20. Today, it was Vivo Malaysia’s turn to make another V20 series phone official.

(Update, September 29: Hello, Philippines: Vivo V20 series coming to the Philippines soon.)
The company unveiled the Vivo V20 SE in our neighboring country, where the unit — available in Oxygen Blue and Gravity Black colors — is priced at RM1,199 (around P13,977 or $288). One look, and you’d think it’s the Vivo X50. They look alike, yeah?
Vivo markets this as a selfie phone, highlighting its 32-megapixel front camera’s ability to take “intricate details” and bright-yet-not-overexposed night self-portraits and automatically adjust to ambient light indoors and outdoors. There’s also the Professional Portrait mode, which Vivo says offers different artistic styles and effects.
For non-selfies, the Vivo V20 SE gets a 48-megapixel main camera assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide/macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. You’ll get to take advantage of Super Night, Ultra Stable Video, and Video Face Beauty modes, among others.

The smartphone features a 4,100mAh battery and supports 33 watts of fast charging. The company claims the said FlashCharge technology is “now 50% faster and comes with eight safety protections.” You should be able to get from 0% to 62% in a mere 30 minutes and to 100% in less than one hour.
The Vivo V20 SE is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chip mated to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s also equipped with a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a 2,400 x 1,080 resolution and a fingerprint sensor underneath it and runs Android 10-based Funtouch OS 11.
Will the device ever be available in the Philippines considering that the Vivo V19 and Vivo V19 Neo were launched just in June because of COVID-19-related lockdown issues? Let’s wait and see.
