You might have heard about a fairly new player in the mobile industry recently. Tecno Mobile, which is owned by the same China-based parent company that operates Infinix, has released some smartphones, and a few of them are available in the Philippines online and offline.

Today, September 26, Tecno officially launched the Tecno Spark 6, which features some key upgrades over the Spark 5 and includes a sizable 6.8-inch punch-hole HD+ screen and a more powerful MediaTek Helio G70 chipset.

The phone costs ₨20,599, which translates to roughly P6,027 or $124 converted, in Pakistan where it made its debut. It is available in Dynamic Orange, Comet Black, Ocean Blue, and Misty Violet colors.

Tecno Mobile announces the Tecno Spark 6

The Tecno Spark 5 Pro, the Spark 6’s predecessor, is currently listed on the brand’s official local Shopee store with a price tag of P5,999 or about $123. Its key specifications consist of a 6.6-inch HD+ display, a Helio P22 processor from MediaTek, and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10-watt charging.

Meanwhile, the Helio G70 inside the Tecno Spark 6 is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as well as HiOS 7.0 baked on top of Android 10. It also comes with a 5,000mAh battery that provides up to 25 hours of video playback and upgrades to 18-watt fast charging.

As for the quad-camera setup on the back, unfortunately, the only usable camera here is the 16-megapixel main camera; the secondary cameras are all equipped with 2-megapixel sensors for bokeh, macro, and AI scenes.

Still, for the price, the Tecno Spark 6 is pretty hard to beat and could prove to be an attractive option for anyone after a big-screened multimedia handset on the cheap. No word yet on local pricing and availability, but we expect the phone to arrive here as well with a budget price tag.
