Globe discounts 5G-ready phones for postpaid users

We look for different features when choosing a smartphone. Personally, if we were to buy one now, we’d choose something that’s 5G-ready for future-proofing purposes.

Philippine telecommunication companies Globe Telecom and Smart Communications have already started rolling out their 5G networks (see our tests here and here), so it’s only a matter of time before there’s 5G signal in all key areas in the country. And there are more device options now.

If you’re a Globe Postpaid subscriber or are looking to be one, you’re in luck; the Ayala-led telco is currently offering 5G phones at a discount. For as low as P1,299 (around $27 converted) a month, you can already own a 5G-enabled handset, allowing you to do so much more than what you can do on 4G.

Download files faster? But of course. Stream your favorite shows at the highest quality? Sure. Play online games with less latency or lag? Yup. Video-chat with clearer resolution? Check. There will be other use cases soon, for sure, as more and more countries adopt the technology.
