Xiaomi‘s new Notes are finally official in the Philippines, almost a month after their global launch and around three weeks since the Redmi Note 9S’ launch in the country.

The Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro are the successors to the series that went on to sell 10 million units in just three months. In the Philippines, their suggested retail prices are as follows:
- Redmi Note 9 (available from May 27 on Shopee and June 4 on Lazada):
- 3GB/64GB: P7,990 (around $158; P7,490 or $148 only at the first-day sale)
- 4GB/128GB: P9,990 ($197)
- Redmi Note 9 Pro (available from June 4 on Lazada)
- 6GB/64GB: P12,490 ($247; P11,990 or $237 on the first day of sale)
- 6GB/128GB: P13,990 ($276)
Redmi Note 9
The Redmi Note 9 is the first smartphone to use the MediaTek Helio G85. The 12nm chip, which has two performance Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores for less power-hungry tasks, is a lot like the Helio G80 expect that its GPU has a higher clock rate. Xiaomi claims the G85 scored 205,946 in Antutu’s benchmark app — quite impressive considering the device’s bargain price point.
Other notable features of the Redmi Note 9 include a 5,020mAh battery with support for 18-watt fast charging, a 48-megapixel quad camera on the back, and a 6.53-inch punch-hole screen with 2,340 x 1,080 resolution.

Redmi Note 9 Pro
Xiaomi has opted to use a Qualcomm system-on-chip — the Snapdragon 720G — for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The said 8nm SoC, paired with Adreno 618 graphics, is said to deliver up to 40% better CPU performance versus previous generations.
The phone boasts a 64-megapixel quad camera that can take RAW images for editing on a computer later; Log mode for videos; and cinematic options for shooting. It also features a 6.67-inch punch hole screen and a 5,020mAh battery that supports fast charging up to 30 watts.
