Vivo today announced the global variant of its mainstream midranger, the Vivo V19. In case the name sounds familiar, that’s because a similar phone was launched in Indonesia last month.
(Update, June 2: It’s coming to the Philippines! Read Vivo V19 Philippine launch scheduled for June 13.)
The new version is different, though, and has better internals and two-front-facing cameras in a pill-shaped punch hole, which is a first for the Chinese brand. On the back, both handsets feature a quad-camera setup with dedicated lenses for ultra-wide, macro, and portrait-style pictures.
The V19 will be offered in two colorways — Gleam Black and Sleek Silver. Vivo says the price and availability will vary depending on the market, but now that it’s official, it should get a general release soon.
In the Philippines, the local launch of the Vivo V19 will likely depend on whether the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine is going to be lifted or extended amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As for the smartphone, the Vivo V19 has a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and an integrated fingerprint reader for fast unlocking. The refresh rate is most probably 60Hz.
Meanwhile, the sizable punch hole on the front carries a 32-megapixel camera and an 8-megapixel secondary shooter for group selfies. The main sensor is the same one Vivo used in the Indonesian model.

The inclusion of a front-facing, wide-angle camera continues the tradition of V series units sporting two selfie cameras. Recall that the Vivo V17 Pro released in the Philippines features 32- and 8-megepixel cameras in a pop-up module.
Elsewhere, the rear-facing system is headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor. Both front and rear cameras of the V19 support Vivo’s night mode and ultra-stable video recording.

On the inside, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of expandable storage.
Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 33-watt fast charging over a USB-C port, which will make the Vivo V19 one of the fastest-charging midrange phones on the market when it releases. The company claims its fast-charging solution can top up the handset from 0% to around 50% in just 30 minutes.
Software-wise, you get Android 10 with Funtouch OS 10 atop. This will make the V19 the first Vivo device to launch with the company’s new user interface.
