So the rumored launch date of Huawei‘s upcoming Nova phones is true. The devices will indeed debut this month.

As the company announced on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Huawei Nova 7 series will be launched April 23 in China. It didn’t mention the models, but we’re expecting to see a Huawei Nova 7 Pro, a Huawei Nova 7, and a Huawei Nova 7 SE — all of which are 5G-enabled.

The image Huawei shared online shows a silhouette of a smartphone with a vertically placed rectangular camera module on the back. This corroborates an alleged ad leaked earlier.

The leaked material, seen below, reveals that the Huawei Nova 7 comes with four cameras, one of which is a periscope telephoto shooter that supports up to 50x zoom. On. A. Midrange. Device. Just like the Huawei P40 Pro, no? Optical zoom is probably 5x then.

You can also see a Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro waterfall screen-like display on the Nova 7, two selfie cameras in a pill cutout, and physical power and volume keys.

Reports say that the smartphones will use different processors. The Huawei Nova 7 Pro is supposedly powered by a Kirin 990 chip, the same one inside the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus. The regular Huawei Nova 7 and the Huawei Nova 7 SE, on the other hand, are said to use Kirin 985 and Kirin 820 chipsets.

Recall that units believed to belong to the lineup have already been given TENAA and China compulsory certifications.

Will Huawei Philippines bring any of the Nova 7 series phones here? Don’t hold your breath just yet; the company has just released the Huawei Nova 7i, a rebranded Nova 6 SE.
