So we were right. As we guessed in November, the Huawei Y9s is indeed coming to the Philippines, as revealed by Davao-based retailer Tekpone.

The smartphone was launched with the Huawei Y6s in markets like Thailand at the time, but only the latter arrived in the Philippines in December. Our guess is Huawei itself will tease the device this month.

Tekpone is already accepting preorders for the Huawei Y9s, which is priced at P13,990 (around $274) — about the same as how much it costs in other countries.

The handset’s 16-megapixel front-camera module reminds us of the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019‘s; it pops up when being used. The one on the back is composed of three sensors. The main tops out at 48 megapixels and is joined by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

It features a 2,340 x 1,080 LCD screen measuring 6.59 inches, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000mAh battery that charges over a USB-C port and runs Android 9.1-based EMUI 9.1.

The processor used is a Kirin 710F mated to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

You have two available color options for the Huawei Y9s. The first is black for those who want something classic, and the other is a gradient look that is reminiscent of the Breathing Crystal variant of the Huawei P30 Pro.
