Xiaomi has a new global milestone to celebrate. The Redmi Note 8 series crossed the “10 million units sold” mark in just three months.
This achievement is equivalent to selling 110,000 units per day. It also means there is more demand for the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi Note 8T (or basically the Note 8 with support for NFC).
First launched in China back in August, the series achieved this milestone faster than the previous-generation lineup, the Redmi Note 7 series. It took 129 days to sell 10 million of the latter.
In India alone, a market where Xiaomi is currently No. 1, the company sold over a million Redmi Note 8 phones in the first month. Xiaomi unveiled the two handsets in India in mid-October, and it first went on sale on October 21.
In the Philippines, both phones came out on October 12. We don’t have the official numbers, but with a starting price of P7,990 (around $157) for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro, we don’t doubt their popularity.

A few weeks ago, Xiaomi topped the list of bestselling mobile brands during Lazada’s 11.11 sale for the second year in a row. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is one of the more compelling offerings that helped propel the brand to the top spot again.
Besides announcing this achievement, Xiaomi said it has more details to share tomorrow about the upcoming Redmi K30 series, which is launching in China on December 10.
Locally, though, we have the arrival of Xiaomi’s new powerhouse to look forward to first. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 will go official in the Philippines on December 4.
