OPPO is ready to unveil in China the latest version of its operating system.
We will see on November 20 the new ColorOS 7, which is believed to be based on Android 10. Former OPPO sub-brand Realme will be getting an exclusively customized version of the OS.
OPPO has not shared much information on the ColorOS 6 successor. All we know so far is the company plans to introduce system-wide Dark Mode, a more minimalistic user interface or UI, and improved gaming performance. The update is expected to arrive on smartphones like the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom flagship.
The latter, along with the Realme 3 Pro, was one of the 21 devices from 13 different brands to first receive the Beta 3 update of Android 10, known as Android Q at the time of announcement.

As for Realme’s version, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has hinted about their version looking different from OPPO’s and that they plan to offer a near-stock Android version, which we hope OPPO follows as well. The brand was previously rumored to be developing a custom RealmeOS skin but then decided against it.
The ColorOS 7 launch will take place at 2:30 p.m. China Standard Time. On the same day, Realme is introducing the Realme X2 Pro in India, so we expect them to talk about the custom OS there, too.
