A month after bringing the Mi AirDots Pro to the Philippines, Xiaomi has confirmed to us at Revü that the Mi AirDots Basic, aka Mi AirDots Youth in China, will be sold here in August.

More specifically, the Mi AirDots Basic is going to be available from August 3 at Mi Authorized Stores in the country. We don’t know yet if the true wireless in-ear buds will also go on sale on e-commerce platforms Lazada and Shopee. Our guess is it won’t be sold online at any time soon.
So, how much will it cost? The Xiaomi Mi AirDots Basic is priced at P1,995, or around $39 converted — higher than in China even if you factor in shipping and taxes. By comparison, the Mi AirDots Pro sells for P3,490 ($69) at local Xiaomi stores.
In terms of features, the Mi AirDots Basic includes noise cancelling for phone calls and voice commands, fast charging over microUSB, and an auto power-off function to save battery life. A full charge is said to provide four hours of continuous use, while charging takes around 90 minutes using a compatible charger.

The earbuds themselves have a clean, minimalist design, which is definitely in keeping with the white carrying case that doubles as a charging base. Xiaomi includes three pairs of ear tips in the box, so you can find the fit that’s right for you.
