Realme 3 Pro could go head to head with Redmi Note 7 Pro

OPPO sub-brand Realme has launched the Realme 3, its latest budget smartphone, in India. The Realme 3 is a well-specced, well-priced phone that’s set to go on sale from March 12. It will be officially revealed March 19th in the Philippines.

Yet there’s another Realme phone that has been confirmed recently, and this one has us genuinely excited.

The Realme 3 Pro is set to arrive sometime in April, likely in India first as well, just like the regular Realme 3. We don’t know what it looks like, or what’s under the hood — the company only confirmed it will launch next month, likely competing head-on with the Redmi Note 7 Pro .

But if we had to speculate, we would assume that, specs-wise, it’s at least on a par with the recently launched Redmi phone. It could be cheaper, too. The Redmi Note 7 Pro packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 inside, coupled with 4GB or 6GB RAM and Adreno 612 graphics. It also comes with a 48-megapixel camera on the back.

Will the Realme 3 Pro arrive with a Snapdragon 675 and a 48-megapixel main camera, too? It’s possible, especially considering the Realme 2 Pro that came before it also used a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (while the Realme 2 had a MediaTek, like the Realme 3), but only time will tell whether this will be the case. In addition, the Realme 2 Pro had an 8GB RAM variant, so it’s all but guaranteed its successor will offer as much memory.

Confirmed: The Realme 3 Pro is coming

The Realme 3 Pro might come with a larger battery with support for USB-C fast charging as well. Meanwhile, the camera on the back could be 48 megapixels and may be capable of pixel binning for better low-light shots, similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro’s system.

Speaking at the Realme 3 launch event, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth said, “The best is yet to come,” referring to the Realme 3 Pro. Hopefully, it’s worth the wait.
