Well, well, well. Look what we stumbled upon in one of the Facebook groups we belong to. It’s a poster announcing a new OPPO phone in the Philippines. And when we asked a company executive about it, the person confirmed that the OPPO A7 is indeed official in the country.
There’s a 3GB RAM/32GB ROM variant of the device, but OPPO Philippines brought in the model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Interestingly, it is available for P13,990 (around $264) — around the same price as the recently announced Vivo Y95.
What’s more, the two smartphones have many similarities. They have the same big screen with small notch, the same memory configuration, the same fingerprint sensor on the back, the same set of dual rear cameras, and the same OS version. Even the design is almost identical.

It’s just the OPPO A7 is using a higher-end processor in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. Vivo’s is outfitted with a Snapdragon 439 chip. The A7 has a larger battery, too — 4,230mAh versus 4,030mAh. The Y95 has a selfie camera with a higher megapixel count of 20, though. And if you prefer something gradient, it’s got you covered.
Today, Vivo has launched the Y91, a cheaper variant of the Y95. Will OPPO Philippines also release a more affordable version of the A7? Your guess is as good as ours.
