The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are already armed with headline-worthy features and hardware — can they get even more impressive? Apparently, yes, with price tags that will make you seriously consider them.

The regular Mate is retailing at P40,990 (roughly $761) in the Philippines, while the more-specced-out Huawei Mate 20 Pro gets a P49,990 ($928) price tag.

We rightly predicted that the Huawei Mate 20 will be sold for around the price indicated above. However, we never thought the Pro model could come in cheaper than we had expected. Consider that in Europe, the prices are set at €799 (P49,801 or $925) and €849 (P52,918 or $983) for the Mate 20 with 4GB and 6GB RAM, €1,049 (P65,384 or $1,215) for the Mate 20 Pro.

At the time of their announcement in the Philippines last year, the Huawei Mate 10 sold for P32,990 ($612), whereas the upscale Mate 10 Pro cost P38,990 ($723). Granted, the latest Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro are bringing even more new features and improvements to the series, so the markup is pretty reasonable in the scheme of things.

The preorder period is from October 26 to November 2, with the release set for November 3. Early purchase entitles you to a free Huawei TalkBand B3 Lite fitness tracker and Bluetooth speaker or wireless charger, depending on the model you buy. As for color options, your choices are probably limited to Black, Twilight, and Emerald Green.
