When OPPO sub-brand Realme announced its second smartphone last month, many were not pleased with the brand’s decision to use a lower-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor in the Realme 2, as opposed to something faster and more gaming-capable.

The brand, however, did tease a more powerful Pro version with higher specs coming in September 2018. And true to rumors and speculation, Realme will indeed announce the Realme 2 Pro on September 27. But ahead of its formal unveiling, the phone has appeared in an official promo video titled Proud to be Young.
Realme 2 Pro teaser video
In the teaser, the front and back of the Realme 2 Pro can be seen clearly confirming its design. The front of the phone features a notched, edge-to-edge display with smaller side and bottom bezels resembling the OPPO F9‘s waterdrop screen. The back looks to be made of glass, though there’s a chance it could be another acrylic material on the rear panel. Whatever the case, the Pro variant will be dropping the diamond pattern of the first two Realme devices.

Unsurprisingly, there’s also a fingerprint reader on the backside of the smartphone, below the horizontal dual cameras, similar to the main camera arrangement of the Realme 2. The original Realme phone featured a single solution for the main camera.
The bottom of the Realme 2 Pro is also shown in the video, bearing a headphone jack, a microUSB port for charging, and a mono loudspeaker.

There’s no mention of the phone’s internal specifications, but word is it could launch with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 or Snapdragon 660 under the hood. Both are mid-tier options that are decidedly more capable than the Snapdragon 450 inside the Realme 2.
We expect all the specs and features, plus pricing and availability details, to be revealed on the September 27 launch event, so check back again soon.
