Just when we thought Xiaomi couldn’t make our jaws drop any lower, it proves us wrong. The Xiaomi Pocophone F1, which is already the world’s most affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 phone, sees its suggested retail price drop ahead of its September 6 release in the Philippines.
(Update: Apparently, the special price will apply only on September 6 on Lazada Philippines.)

The listing for the 6GB RAM/64GB ROM variant of the device is already up on Lazada Philippines. And instead of the announced P17,990 (around $337) SRP, the amount shown is P16,990 ($318). This brings the base model closer to the Honor Play, arguably the Pocophone F1’s closest rival in its pricing category in the country.

Marketed as a gaming smartphone, the HiSilicon Kirin 970-powered Honor Play made us sit up when the Huawei sub-brand revealed that it’s retailing at only P15,990 ($299).
This is legit as they come because the listing can be found on Xiaomi’s official store on Lazada. Unfortunately, we can’t find the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the ecommerce platform. That one is supposed to go on sale for P19,990 ($374). Will that Xiaomi Pocophone F1 variant become P1,000 ($19) cheaper, too? Let’s wait and collectively hold our breath.
