Over a billion people are on YouTube. We here at Revü are a part of that number. You may be one of us, too. And to help all of us get the best experience on the platform, YouTube itself has released a list of recommended smartphones.
The company calls the handsets YouTube Signature Devices. They are units that support high dynamic range and frame rate, reliable DRM performance, and 4K decoding and use next-generation video codecs. Which means they are those that will let you enjoy vivid HDR videos, give you an immersive 360-degree experience, and load videos fast — all while using less bandwidth.
To qualify as a YouTube Signature Device, a smartphone must support high dynamic range and frame rate, reliable DRM performance, and 4K decoding and use next-generation video codecs.
