We’re just a few days removed from Xiaomi officially (and finally) launching the Mi Max 3 on July 19. There isn’t much we do not know about the device at this point. We’ve seen the TENAA listing and the supposed live images and hands-on video. Even the phone’s retail packaging has been reportedly spotted in the wild.
And yet, it’s always good to get official confirmation from the manufacturer itself. Cue the latest teaser image and video from Xiaomi. They not only confirm the design of the phone, but also corroborate previous reports that leaked its specs.
In particular, one image reveals that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will indeed carry a massive 6.9-inch display with a taller, likely 18:9, aspect ratio for a more modern look and being better suited for entertainment and navigation. What’s more, the battery has been confirmed to be a 5,500mAh unit, which sounds about right given the size of the device.
The rest of the specs will have to wait for now. However, the information on the box leaked earlier shows the Mi Max 3 having dual back-facing cameras comprising a 12-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel secondary one. The 5,500mAh battery is said to charge over a USB-C port. Based on the details provided, one variant of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 may have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage.

The model of the processor isn’t stated on the box, but according to the TENAA certification website, the phone will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor that’s in the P11,990 (about $224) Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. There are rumors of a Snapdragon 710-based Mi Max 3 Pro variant, too. The other RAM configurations are 3GB and 6GB, paired with up to 128GB storage. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is believed to be 8 megapixels.
As always, we’ll have to wait for the smartphone’s official unveiling to get confirmation of all of these things. Make sure to check back in a couple of days.
