As previously reported, the OPPO Find X is now available for preorder in the Philippines at select OPPO stores through August 1, with the first day of open sale set to take place on August 6. What was missing in our report, however, was the flagship smartphone’s official, off-contract price.
(Update, July 12: It’s official! The 256GB OPPO Find X’s price in the Philippines is indeed P49,990.)
But now we can fill in the details — at least, that’s what we’re hoping for. Domestic pricing of the OPPO Find X has been making the rounds on Facebook, with OPPO Philippines sales staff claiming that the much-hyped phone will cost P49,990, or about $934, here according to a memo sent by the company’s sales department. And in case you’re wondering, they’re probably referring to the 256GB variant.
The price tag is in line with earlier speculation, too, as the OPPO Find X with 256GB of built-in storage and Super VOOC charging sells for ¥5,999 (P48,175 or $901) in its native China. If true, not only will the Find X be the priciest OPPO phone to ever land here, but we imagine it will end up being one of the most expensive devices to hit retail this year, alongside the next Apple and Samsung flagships.

But that price comes with some over-the-top specs all wrapped up in a beautiful glass-and-metal construction that has been described as the future of smartphone design. The bezels on the OLED screen are almost non-existent, even while skipping the notch to house the earpiece and front-facing camera.

When you need to take a picture or use the face-login feature, the cameras on the OPPO Find X are brought up on a motorized sliding mechanism. While it seems like a cool party trick that can impress even the most jaded smartphone owner, we’ll reserve our judgment until we see it in action.
