NEX, Vivo’s next-gen flagship smartphone with an almost-zero-bezel screen, is set to launch June 12. We already have a good idea of what the phone might look like. On the inside, however, there are still plenty of questions needing answers.

Questions such as: Just how far is the company willing to go in the specs race? The answer appears to be quite far, if the most recent leak from Vivo’s home market is to be believed. The Vivo NEX poster you see below was allegedly taken at a retail location in China. The picture was posted on Weibo, a popular social-media platform in the country.
It details some of the important specs we can expect from the Vivo NEX and floats the idea of a high-end variant carrying a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of storage.
The front of the handset is expected to boast an edge-to-edge touchscreen measuring 6.59 inches, plus audio technology that vibrates the entire display to produce sound, similar to what Vivo did on the APEX concept phone. The translation likewise mentions the pop-up camera system that the company lifted from the APEX.

In related news, latest official teaser from the company has bared the front of the Vivo NEX. It hints that artificial intelligence or AI would play a huge and important role in how the phone will be used.
Previously, the Vivo NEX S, one of the three rumored variants of the upcoming device, was spotted on Vivo’s official website with a Snapdragon 845 mated to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.
A more affordable version sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, in addition to a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display one, also appeared on the site. It’s likely this downgraded model will be called the Vivo NEX.
