After years without a clear successor, OPPO’s high-end Find series will finally add a new phone to its ranks, with the launch of the Find X slated for June 19 in Paris, France. So much has been said and written about the OPPO Find X that there seems to be nothing left for us to, well, find out. Then today happened.
(Update, June 16, 7:15 p.m.: OPPO has posted a new update saying the Find X has a whopping 93.8 percent screen-to-body ratio! That’s the highest then. – Alora)
OPPO just posted a promotional image showing the front of the phone, from top to bottom. Based on the image, the Find X will apparently drop the notch, just like the recently unveiled Vivo NEX.

What’s more, the screen features really slim bezels and rounded corners reminiscent of those on the LG G6 and G7 ThinQ. OPPO didn’t mention if the unique design of the front glass will also reduce the risk of the screen cracking in the event the handset is dropped, as the glass on the said LG flagships would in case of impact.
The screen-to-body ratio of the OPPO Find X has been teased to reach the 90-percent mark as well, possibly even surpassing the 91-percent ratio of the Vivo NEX. Looking closely at the render, the bottom bezel appears significantly narrower than on most devices these days. It doesn’t show the blue LED notification light we’ve previously seen in older teasers.

Speaking of which, it baffles us that the latest image from OPPO doesn’t include a notch when another clearly shows one at the top to house the front-facing camera and earpiece speaker. Will OPPO launch two Find models next week? Your guess is as good as ours.

As for the back of the Find X, a short clip accidentally shown on China’s CCTV network suggests it will sport a curved-edge glass panel, held in place by a metal frame. But more interestingly, the video hints at the possibility of the Find X being a slider phone that hides two selfie cameras behind the display to achieve a staggeringly high screen-to-phone ratio.
