The next installment of the OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 6, will be announced on May 16 at a press event in London. China and India will get ahold of it on May 17, per the company.
Rumors claim it will be available from May 21, or less than a week after it makes an official appearance for the first time. Word about its specs remain slim, but today’s news changes all that. The OnePlus 6 has finally made its way to China’s TENAA certification body and subsequently appeared on the TENAA website, with its specs in tow.
It turns out the OnePlus 6, which was spotted under the model name OnePlus A6000, is just as compelling on the inside as we had hoped. When all the pageantry on launch day is done, the OnePlus 6 will bear a huge AMOLED display spanning 6.3 inches and spreading 2,280 x 1,080 pixels across an aspect ratio of 19:9.
It will also come with a notch at the top of the screen and weigh 179 grams, which sounds about right for a glass-and-metal design. Fueling the unit is a 3,300mAh battery with fast charging using a USB Type-C port.

The main camera system is going to feature a 20-megapixel sensor assisted by a secondary 16-megapixel one. It has been reported that the OnePlus 6 will be capable of recording super-slow-motion footage, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Huawei P20 Pro, to name two. The camera occupying the notch offers 16 megapixels for selfies and vlogs.
Speed will be a major selling point, of course, and the OnePlus 6 certainly won’t disappoint with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 at the helm. The TENAA listing shows 6GB RAM and 64GB storage at the moment, but there’s a high chance we could see a more beefed-up edition of the flagship with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, as other reports have surmised. The phone is expected to ship with up-to-date Android 8.1 Oreo, too.

A leak on Chinese social network Weibo suggested the OnePlus 6 could fetch a price of $749 (around P38,644) in the international market. Digital Walker, the official reseller of OnePlus products in the Philippines, will likely bring the phone here shortly after its global debut.
So all told, are you excited about the next OnePlus event?
