Look what we have in the mail today! Yes, the May 30 launch date is back on. A little over two weeks after its global announcement, the Honor 10 will finally be formally introduced to the Philippine market.

We’re not surprised. After all, the page for the smartphone is already up on the Huawei sub-brand’s local website. Plus CEO George Zhao revealed at the May 15 event in London that we will be one of the first markets outside of China to get the device. The development came just weeks after Honor’s return to the Philippines after a two-year hiatus.

If you’re eyeing the Huawei P20 series, but can’t quite come up with at least P34,990 (roughly $669), then you should probably consider the Honor 10. Just like the P20 models, the Honor 10 boasts an almost-all-screen design with a notch at the top and a striking color-shifting glass at the back.
But unlike its Huawei counterparts, the 64GB and 128GB variants of the phone are being sold in China for ¥2,599 (P21,340 or $408) and ¥2,999 (P24,624 or $471), respectively. This means that there’s a huge chance that the Honor 10’s price in the Philippines will not go over P30,000 ($573).

Powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 970 chip mated to 6GB of RAM, the device features dual rear cameras — a 16-megapixel sensor for color and a 24-megapixel monochrome sensor for better image clarity and contrast — and a 24-megapixel selfie shooter. Its display measures 5.8 inches and has a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080. Underneath it is a chin, where a fingerprint sensor is housed.
To keep the Honor 10 powered on for hours, there’s a 3,400mAh battery inside. And the unit will ship with an Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI skin out of the box.
