Exactly a month after the opening of the first Mi Authorized Store at TriNoma in Quezon City, Xiaomi and Grimalkin Corporation inaugurated the first Mi flagship shop in the Philippines.

The store is located at the fourth floor of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, occupying a large space next to OPPO and Decor. It is definitely bigger than the one at TriNoma — as it should be — and has a more ideal spot, as it’s adjacent to the escalator.

The Mi Authorized Store at Megamall is the second of five brick-and-mortar shops originally planned to be opened in 2018. So two down, three more to go.

According to John Chen, director for Southeast Asia at Xiaomi, they will set up another shop in Metro Manila and two in key cities outside of the metro, possibly in Cebu City in the Visayas region and in Davao City in Mindanao.

A source told us that the third retail store might be located at SM Mall of Asia, though they are also looking at the Greenbelt and Landmark areas.

Of course, you can already buy official Xiaomi products from Lazada and, soon, Shopee. But if you are in Metro Manila and can brave the traffic, we suggest you check out the flagship authorized store. As with the one in Quezon City, it carries a smorgasbord of cool techie stuff to chew on — from smart rice cookers and scooters to smartphones, television sets, and laptops.
