We already know that OPPO will be launching its flagship devices — of the premium mid-end kind, as its hero devices go — in the next few weeks. The company itself has released a teaser for the OPPO R15 and R15 Plus (or Dream Mirror Edition, as some call it). However, details of the duo have been sketchy. Until today, that is.

First, the smartphones are already up for reservation on OPPO China’s website. There, you can see images and videos, including the series’ TV commercials, showing how the R15 and R15 Plus look. Yes, they have a nearly bezel-less screen with notched display, just like the one on the iPhone X. The back doesn’t resemble Apple’s 10th-anniversary iPhone, though; the dual rear cameras are arranged horizontally. You can say that they look like the rumored Huawei P20 Lite.

Second, the OPPO R15 and R15 Plus — if they are indeed code-named PACT00 and PAAT00, respectively — have been spotted on the website of TENAA, China’s certification body not unlike the Philippines’ National Telecommunications Commission or NTC.
OPPO R15 and R15 Plus (Dream Mirror Edition) details have been sketchy. Until today, that is. First, the smartphones are already up for reservation on OPPO China’s website. Second, they have been spotted on TENAA, the Chinese equivalent to the Philippines’ NTC.
Based on the listing, the OPPO R15 uses an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. It features 6GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with 2,280 x 1,080 resolution, and a 3,365mAh battery. It will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo preinstalled. Up front is a 20-megapixel selfie camera, and on the back are 16- and 5-megapixel sensors.

The OPPO R15 Plus, on the other hand, is powered by an octa-core processor with a higher, 2.2GHz clock rate. There is a 3,300mAh battery and 16- and 12-megapixel dual rear cameras. The rest of the specs are the same as those of the regular R15, from the front-facing shooter to the display.
It will only be a matter of time before OPPO confirms its upcoming hero devices’ full specs, so sit tightly. We’re all in this together. 😉
