The next Galaxy is coming, there’s no doubt about that.
Samsung is holding an Unpacked event at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, on February 25 (February 26 in the Philippines). And we expect the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ to finally make their debut on the global stage.

But when are the smartphones coming to the Philippines? This page on the company’s local website reveals that the devices will be launched in the country in March. There’s no specific date yet, but at least we know it won’t be long till they become official here.

You can register on that page “to get the latest updates on the reimagined camera and get a chance to win an exclusive invite to the Galaxy media event happening in March.”
You can already register on Samsung Electronics Philippines’ website to get the latest Galaxy S9 and S9+ updates. You’ll also get a chance to win an exclusive invite to the media launch.
Last year, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were unveiled worldwide on March 29 and was announced in the Philippines about three weeks after, on April 18.
The Korean tech giant itself has spilled the significant features of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. On its YouTube channel in Korea, Samsung uploaded three videos that all point to the capabilities of the phones’ camera systems.

The first clip confirms previous rumors that the handsets will have a super-slow-motion feature. If you have the version with the Exynos 9810 chipset and not Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845, expect the Galaxy S9 and S9+ to deliver 1,000fps slow motion and 120fps at a 4K resolution.

The second video boasts that Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones will be great for low-light photography. Word has it that they will have a variable aperture from f/2.4 to f/1.5 — the lowest ever in a phone. The lower the aperture value, the better.

The third clip shows that facial recognition and animoji will make their way to the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

Expect the regular S9 to have a 5.8-inch screen with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of memory. The Plus model, on the other hand, is rumored to sport a larger, 6.2-inch display and 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
