NBA 2K18 for Android isn’t the best version of the basketball video game for mobile devices. And months after its release, it still doesn’t offer the same experience as its iOS counterpart, with its last update coming in December of last year.

There’s still no support for Bluetooth controllers, something Apple iPhone and iPad owners have been enjoying since launch day, though a workaround, which we detailed in a previous article, exists.

Good thing, then, that you won’t have to pay full price for the game — on both platforms — if you haven’t downloaded it yet. NBA 2K18 for Android has been discounted to P255 (around $4.88) from P405 ($7.74) for Android users with Philippine-based accounts. NBA 2K18 for iOS, on the other hand, drops to P249 ($4.76), a few pesos cheaper than the Android version.

The game’s developer doesn’t say when the offer will end as other developers tend to do, so we suggest that you consider getting the mobile version now while it is considerably cheaper than usual.

If you don’t like it, or if the game simply doesn’t work as intended on your device, you can always get a refund — as long as Google and Apple’s policies allow it.

NBA 2K18 is the latest iteration of the popular basketball franchise for PC, consoles, and mobile. This year’s release introduces a number of fresh features, including tighter controls; expanded MyCareer and Association modes; and plenty of new animations and player models, among others.

Issues aside, we still think it’s well worth a basketball fan’s time, but if you already own NBA 2K17, you may want to consider sitting out this year’s edition. For more about NBA 2K18 for Android and iOS, read our review.
