Just when we got our minds set on welcoming the ZenFone 5 series, ASUS Philippines has added another member of the ZenFone 4 family to its product offerings. Meet the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite.

The release of the smartphone comes less than a month after the company started selling the ASUS ZenFone Max Plus (M1). Incidentally, the latter is also part of its lineup of devices with big batteries. This brings the number of new — or relatively new — Max handsets to three. At least locally.
We now have the following:
- ASUS ZenFone 4 Max Lite: Priced at P7,995 or roughly $155
- ASUS ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL): Priced at P9,995 ($194)
- ASUS ZenFone Max Plus (M1): Priced at P11,995 ($232)
So which is the right Max for you? Which one do you think suits your need?

If you’re after a wide, nearly borderless screen, then the MediaTek MT6750T-powered Max Plus (M1) is your match. It’s the only one among the three phones that has an 18:9 display.
If you couldn’t care less about being on-trend and you just want the most powerful of them all, we suggest that you get the ASUS ZenFone 4 Max. Running the whole unit is a capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. We chose it as one of 2017’s best budget smartphones.

The Max Lite is actually an ASUS ZenFone 4 Max, too, but with the model number ZC520KL — and the variant with only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
