Samsung dropped a major bomb today, confirming the global launch of its flagship Samsung Galaxy S9 series happening on February 25. As earlier reported across the interwebs, the announcement will preempt the 2018 edition of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
It is also rumored that Samsung’s big reveal is the reason we might never see the Huawei P20 (or P11?) and LG V30+ Alpha hit the main stage at MWC. The two premium handsets have been reportedly postponed by weeks, if not months.

Samsung’s press invite shows a purple “9” on a black background with the words “The camera. Reimagined.” It’s light on details for those of us who were hoping to get a better idea of what the phone would offer. But it does confirm that the Korean tech company will discuss improvements to the Galaxy S8 and Note 8‘s impressive camera systems.
The latter has been named the best smartphone for zoom by DxOMark and ranks among the top smartphones ever tested by the rating website.

And if you’re wondering how the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be different from its predecessor in terms of design, you may want to watch the clip below, which shows an alleged unit in action. Notice the supposedly thinner bottom bezel? It’s quite impossible to tell, mainly because the video was taken from a screen during a demo.

Nonetheless, we’re hearing that the Galaxy S9 will likely have a similar design, only with slimmer bezels. An Exynos 9810 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, depending on the market, is expected to power the phone, which will go on sale mid-March for the same price as the Galaxy S8, if not slightly higher.
