On November 15, we stumbled upon an SM Cyberzone post revealing that a higher-end model of the OPPO F5 will be available in the country. Now, OPPO Philippines has confirmed that the said variant will go on sale starting December 9.

How is this any different from the regular F5 that is priced P15,990 or roughly $318? With this particular version, you’re getting the following:

  • 6GB of RAM instead of 4GB;
  • 64GB of expandable storage instead of 32GB; and
  • a red finish that is not available for the 32GB variant.

Other than those, everything is the same. The OPPO F5 6GB model still features a 6-inch FHD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio; AI or artificial-intelligence-backed beauty-recognition technology; and 16- and 20-megapixel rear and front cameras.

The OPPO F5 6GB variant shares is a souped-up version of the 4GB model that is seen in this photo.

The selfie phone still runs Android Nougat, boasts a 3,200mAh battery, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor. Its complete specs can be found here.

Expectedly, you’ll have to shell out more money for the 6GB model. This baby costs P21,990 or about $437, though it does come with a free Joker hero for AOV [Arena of Valor] and an Olike Bluetooth speaker worth P2,990 ($59).

If the OPPO F5 is not within your budget, there’s always the OPPO F5 Youth, its slightly watered-down version. That one retails at only P13,990 ($278).
