Better late (to the Christmas shopping list) than never, or so the saying goes. The Doogee Mix 2 is now officially available in the Philippines through online retailer Lazada’s local website.
We had earlier predicted that the Chinese upstart would release the phone as early as November or December. Turns out we were right. We had seen it show up on the online shop on December 11, too.
Black, blue, or gold, the standard 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM model is priced at P12,995 in the Philippines, or roughly $260 in U.S. currency.

The Mix 2 succeeds the Doogee Mix that was launched earlier this year and, as with the Xiaomi Mi Mix phone it borrowed its design and styling from, had thin bezels around its 5.5-inch AMOLED display.
This time round, the screen gets bumped to 6 inches with a full-HD resolution on a taller, 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels on the side remain thin, while the forehead and chin of the device offer more space to fit components like the Mix 2’s pair of front-facing cameras.

We praised the Doogee Mix’s hardware in our review, but wished for a more polished software. The dual-camera unit on the rear also missed the mark, as photos tend to look soft and grainy and colors appear less inviting than in real life. Worse still, dynamic range left a lot to be desired, with bright environments being all too easy to blow out.

The Doogee Mix 2 also features two cameras at the back; hopefully, they perform up to snuff. Speed and responsiveness shouldn’t be an issue, though, as the smartphone pairs a Helio P25 processor with 6GB of RAM — more than enough for most users on Android 7.0 Nougat.
