Leave it to case makers to give us our best look yet at future devices, yes? Today’s leak shows off the long-rumored Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) and A7 (2018) from all angles, this time courtesy of a company that manufacturers smartphone cases.
Based on the new renders, the upcoming Galaxy refresh will have taller screens and — because the hardware home buttons are nowhere to be found — on-screen buttons for input.

The lack of forward-facing buttons means their front panels are mostly occupied by their displays, which is believed to come in at 5.5 (Galaxy A5) and 5.7 inches (Galaxy A7), though their sides are not curved like those of recent flagships Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Note 8. Understandably, the fingerprint reader has been moved to the back of the devices, just below the main camera.
Speaking of which, it seems Sammy will stick to a single sensor with next year’s Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 even though the mid-tier Samsung Galaxy J7+ from this year boasts a dual-lens setup.

And whether they will be water-resistant like their predecessors is anyone’s guess for now. The renders also reveal a Type-C connector, as well as a headphone jack along the bottom edges of the phones.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is believed to house either an Exynos 7885 or a Snapdragon 630 chipset to go with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The rear and front cameras are said to be of the 16-megapixel variety, while the fixed battery might be rated at 3,600mAh. The hardware inside the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) could be similar to the A7’s, but with less memory.

In related news, the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) could have been already spoiled by the internet as well. An alleged image of the device’s front panel has surfaced online, hinting at another borderless midranger from the Korean giant.
This one could feature slimmer bezels and two selfie cameras, though. We’re hoping that one of the lenses will be wide-angle.

The company may unveil the new Galaxy A series smartphones as early as next year at CES 2018. The Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy X might also be headed to the Las Vegas tech show. We can’t wait.
