Unsurprisingly, the event will happen in its turf, Beijing. And it will be the first time that former head of international Hugo Barra won’t be present in a Xiaomi flagship-smartphone launch.
Other than saying that the Mi 6 is a “guaranteed performance beast,” the Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t revealed any other details yet. However, its alleged specs and prices have already been leaked.

Word has it that the device will have two versions. The smaller, 5.1-inch variant will supposedly be called Xiaomi Mi 6. The bigger, 5.7-inch version, on the other hand, will be known as the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus. Sounds familiar, Apple fans? Yeah, we figured.
Both are claimed to have screens with 1080p resolution; dual 12-megapixel rear-facing cameras; an 8-megapixel selfie shooter; Android 7.1 Nougat based on MIUI; 4GB to 6GB of RAM; and — get this — Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

If that last bit of information is true, then we guess the devices will not be released immediately. From what we understand, there is a shortage of supply of the chip because Samsung has, um, hoarded it for the Galaxy S8 and S8+.
As for pricing, the Mi 6 is rumored to start at ¥2,200 (around P15,787 or $319), and the Mi 6 Plus, at ¥2,700 (roughly P19,400 or $391).
