(Update, May 2, 2017: Our review of the P1 is up! Read Cherry Mobile Flare P1 review: Two rear cameras, one especially low price.)
And today, it changed its Facebook cover photo to show its soon-to-be-released devices.
True to the company’s track record of offering affordable products, Cherry Mobile priced the Flare P1 at only P3,999 (around $81) and the Flare P1 Plus, at P5,999 ($121). And the phones are already running Android Nougat 7.0.
The cheaper of the two features 13- and 2-megapixel cameras on the rear. We understand that one sensor is tasked to take the main image and the other captures the depth of field, so you can finally do bokeh photography — something only those who can afford handsets like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus and the Huawei Mate 9 can previously enjoy. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
The Cherry Mobile Flare P1 is priced at only P3,999 (around $81) and the Flare P1 Plus, at P5,999 ($121), bringing bokeh photography to those who can’t afford dual-camera phones like the iPhone 7 Plus. And they’re running Android Nougat 7.0.
The Cherry Mobile Flare P1 is a 5-incher that is powered by a MediaTek 6580 quad-core processor coupled with a Mali-T720 GPU. Internal storage is pegged at 16GB, but you can extend the space using a microSD card up to 32GB. Keeping the lights on is a removable 2,350mAh battery.
Unfortunately, it only has 1GB of RAM and does not support 4G. If those features are a deal-breaker, just add P2,000 ($40) to get the Cherry Mobile Flare P1 Plus.

The 5.5-inch smartphone already has 2GB of RAM and is 700MHz LTE-ready. If you don’t know about 700MHz, understand that the frequency can easily penetrate walls and buildings. It also has a wider coverage.
On the camera front, the P1 Plus has 13- and 5-megapixel sensors on the back and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front. Running the show is a MediaTek 6737T quad-core processor paired with a Mali-T720 GPU.

You’re also getting a fingerprint sensor for additional security, a non-removable 3,000mAh battery to power the phone, and 16GB of built-in memory with option for an additional 64GB of storage via a microSD card.
The Cherry Mobile Flare P1 and P1 Plus dual-camera smartphones should be available anytime this April.
