Specs-wise, it’s your average Joe. But the highlight here is the device’s ability to let you live-stream with beautification turned on. That way, you can go live on Facebook, YouTube, and other streaming apps using a built-in beautify filter to remove blemishes, smoothen your skin, and adjust your skin tone in real time. Should be great when you’re, say, a video blogger or vlogger.
This is the first instance that you can do that with videos. But of course, you can still use that real-time mode when taking selfies, something that you can already do without the need to download an app with smartphones like the OPPO A39 and the just-announced Vivo V5 Lite.

To make live-streaming even better, the ASUS ZenFone Live features two built-in MEMS microphones. That translates to automatic detection and elimination of background noise. No background noise equals better voice pickup. Better voice pickup means clearer sound.
By the way, the selfie camera is a 5-megapixel shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, a 1.4µm pixel size, an 82-degree field of view, and a front-facing flash. The main camera, on the other hand, is set at 13 megapixels.
We don’t know which particular Qualcomm quad-core processor comes with the ASUS ZenFone Live; the company website doesn’t mention it. However, previous reports say it’s a Snapdragon 410 chipset — one we hope is not true. We’re wishing for a Snapdragon 430 for this phone.
Detailed, though, are the following: 5-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage with an option to add up to 128GB more space, non-removable 2,650mAh battery, and ZenUI 3.0 on top of Android 6.0 Nougat. As we said earlier, it’s not a high-end device.
It’s rumored to cost 150 euros (approximately P8,000 or $160). Then again, no pricing and availability have been announced yet. But because the ZenFone Live is expected to be showcased at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, we’ll probably know those details by next week.
