Dell had proved its mettle in the PC business and has been one of the most enduring brands in the industry. And while I haven’t found its previous notebook designs to be prettier or better than the MacBook’s aluminum unibody, Dell’s Precision 15 refresh looks the part of a MacBook Pro killer, or a mobile workstation that people would want to own.
For starters, the new model is the thinnest, lightest, and best-looking Precision laptop ever made, and it combines premium materials with top-shelf specifications and a brilliant 15-inch IPS display that supports up to UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160), depending on the configuration.
The Dell Precision 15 boasts the thinnest bezels on a 15-inch workstation, reducing the machine’s overall footprint.
Like its high-end XPS cousin, the Precision 15 also boasts some of the thinnest bezels around, which not only is guaranteed to draw stares from anyone who sees them but reduces the machine’s overall footprint as well. Dell has managed to fit a 15-inch screen into a chassis that is about the same size as that of a 13-incher, and I think this sums up what the product is all about: professional performance without the usual bulk.
The new Dell Precision 15 will be available this month, starting at P90,000 for a base model that features a 1080p display and the latest sixth-gen Intel Skylake processor. The priciest and most high-end option includes a 4K display and Intel’s enterprise-grade processor.
