In a bit of good news for Cherry Mobile One G1 owners, Google has released the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 (MMB29K) update for the second-generation Android One smartphone.
The 87MB OTA update, “which improves performance and stability and fixes bugs,” is already available for download, though the roll out is random and may be slower than expected.

If your device hasn’t received the OTA notification yet, don’t fret; you can still download the file and install it manually. I’ve previously put together a guide on how to update your Cherry Mobile One G1 using the ADB method.
You’ll have to download a different file, of course, but I have you covered on that front as well. You can download the official Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update here, direct from Google’s servers. I’ve also created a Google Drive mirror, in case you’re having problems with the source link.
How has your Android Marshmallow upgrade experience been so far? Sound off in the comments below. Also, if you have questions about how to proceed with the upgrade process, I’d be happy to hear from you.
